Chip producenterne er åbentbart ikke helt færdig med at købe ind, først købte 3DFX grafikkort producenten STD, nu købte S3 så Diamond Multimedia.

GA Source har lige postet en lille Q&A, hvor han har stillet Paul Crossley, fra PR afdelingenen, et par spørsmål:

Will S3 continue to provide chips for all the other manufacturers (unlike STB/3dfx)?
Our intention is to continue supplying our existing AIC customers with product as theDiamond product line occupies a different position in the market than that of many of our other AIC partners.

Do you think Diamond will continue to manufacture boards based on other graphics chipsets?

Diamond has a purchase agreement with Nvidia and so will continue to service the needs of customers that have designed in Nvidia product. Both the current Viper 770 product line and the current Stealth III product line are proving to be quite successful and both are expected to continue to grow in volume.
